Backpacking Adventure
Who: Any man who wants to sign up (teenage sons can participate as well.)
What: Five days and nights on the trail. Hiking the 4 Pass Loop (26-28 miles) in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado.
Where: Maroon Bells/Snowmass Wilderness Area (just outside of Aspen, Colorado)
When: July 24th - July 29th, 2008 (Fly out Thursday afternoon and return Tuesday night)
Cost: $500 Covers roundtrip airfare, all ground transportation, all meals once on the trail, guide service and mscellaneous costs associated with equipment needed for the group. For an additional $75 you can rent a pack, sleeping bag and sleeping pad that will be needed for the trip if you don't already have them. Additional costs will include personal gear you'll need to bring, a couple of meals, and costs for a shower before returning home.
Why: How many reasons do you want? It will be 65-75 degrees in the afternoon, you’ll be surrounded by mountains, you’ll miss several days of work and the Texas summer heat, you’ll spend time with great friends, sleep under the stars, breathe fresh air, experience God in a whole new way…Did I mention…it’s Colorado…the mountains…in the summer!
