Missions

Preprequisites and Trip Levels
Mission trips are an important part of our outreach initiatives and a great way for members of our church family to help minister to people in other communities. Most of our trips include three core elements:
- construction projects,
- medical missions, and
- leadership training.
Preprequisites:
- Membership Class (signed covenant)
- Leadership Class
- Serve anywhere at any time in a Local Outreach or ministry team
- Attend two trainings
- Valid Passport, Immunizations
(per Passport Health of Houston or the like)
Payments
- Pay a little at a time or all at once!
- Deposit required for all trips ($200.00)
In many cases, being a part of our short-term mission teams does not require special skills or training. In an effort to help you decide what trip might be best for you, we've categorized the level of difficulty from 1 to 3.
- Level 1 trips are designed for beginners who have served in one of our local outreach efforts, but have never participated in an international mission trip before.
(Example: Housing in a basic hotel setting; Transportation by air conditioned bus or van. Some physical labor.)
- Level 2 trips are a little more difficult physically and emotionally. Potential level 2 team members have participated in local outreaches, and are fully aware of international challenges concerning "creature comforts". (Example: Housing in a home, church or compound on a cot or bedroll; Transportation by non-air conditioned vehicle, moderate amount of walking. Much physical labor.)
- Level 3 trips are the most difficult of our mission trips. In order to apply, you should be in excellent health and prepared to handle physically demanding circumstances. (Example: Housing in a more rough terrain "camp" setting; Transportation by non-air conditioned open air vehicle, much walking in rough terrain. Much physical labor.)
Pray about your involvement in Woodlands Church's efforts to impact our world with the love and message of Jesus Christ. God wants to use you.
