Baptism FAQs
Baptism Frequently Asked Questions
When Should I Be Baptized?
As soon as you have personally placed your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.
Can My Child Be Baptized?
Yes, your child can be baptized if he/she has personally placed his/her faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. We highly recommend children 12 and under speak with our Children's Pastor prior to their baptism.
Where Do I Come For Baptism?
At the end of the service, please come to the front of the stage near
the crosses where one of our pastors will be waiting and take you backstage to our changing area. Family members and friends can gather by the baptism pool to wait for you and the others who are being baptized. Parents can assist their children in the changing area, if needed.
What do I wear?
Bring your baptism clothes to the service. Women/girls should wear shorts and a (non-white) top rather than a swimsuit, or a dark colored t-shirt that completely covers the swimsuit. Men/boys should wear a swimsuit or shorts, and a t-shirt. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.
Will I Have To Say Anything – What Can I Expect?
No, you do not have to say a thing. We will call out your name to come into the baptism pool then take your photo. This photo and a signed certificate of baptism will be a part of the beautiful baptism folder we will send you after your baptism. One of our pastors/leaders will say a few words and briefly lower you to just below the surface of the water. You can then exit the baptism pool and watch as others celebrate their baptism.
Can My Family Be Baptized Together?
Yes! If each family member understands fully the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage families to be baptized at the same time. Young children who wish to be baptized are asked to meet with our Children’s Pastor for a pre-baptism conversation prior to being baptized.
